25th Flora Expo in Kathmandu exceeds Rs 10 million in sales
KATHMANDU: The recent 25th Flora Expo in Kathmandu saw impressive sales, totaling over Rs 10.05 million.
Organized by the Floriculture Association Nepal and the Floriculture Development Centre, the four-day event attracted 49,100 visitors.
Various stalls, including commercial, landscaping, and official ones, showcased the vibrant floral diversity of Nepal.
Minister Jwala Kumari Shah visited, pledging support for the floral industry's growth.
Despite rising local demand, Nepal still imports flowers from India. With floriculture practiced in 43 districts and an annual transaction of around Rs 3.07 billion, the Expo highlights the sector's economic significance.
