NOC reduces petrol and diesel prices

KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced a decrease in the prices of petroleum products, effective Friday midnight.

The price of petrol has been reduced by Rs. 1 per litre, while diesel sees a decrease of Rs. 2 per litre.

According to Manoj Thakur, the spokesperson of the Corporation, the new market prices are as follows:

  • Petrol: Rs. 168.50 paisa per litre (first category), Rs. 170 (second category), and Rs. 171 per litre (third category).
  • Diesel and Kerosene: Rs. 155.50 per litre (first category), Rs. 157 (second category), and Rs. 158 per litre (third category).

The adjustment in prices is based on the revised purchase price received from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the supplier of fuel to NOC.

The purchase price of petrol and diesel from IOC has decreased by Rs. 1.22 and Rs. 2.06 per litre respectively.

The first category includes Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhganj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj.

The second category includes Surkhet and Dang, while Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal fall under the third category.
