Gold price surges to record high in Nepali market

KATHMANDU: The price of gold has skyrocketed to an unprecedented level of Rs 123,000 per tola (11.66 grams) in the domestic market today.

Hallmark gold is now trading at Rs 123,000 per tola, a significant increase from Rs 121,000 per tola just a day ago.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association, worked gold is being traded at Rs 122,400 per tola today, up from Rs 120,400 on Monday.

In addition, the price of silver has also seen a notable rise, climbing by Rs 35 per tola to reach Rs 1,445.

This surge in gold prices marks a new record, surpassing the previous high of Rs 122,000 per tola recorded on December 28, 2023.

The Federation bases its pricing on the trends observed in the international market, reflecting the global dynamics influencing the precious metal's value.
