Rain and snowfall expected in hilly regions

KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing the influence of westerly winds, resulting in varying weather conditions across different regions.

In the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy. However, the rest of the territory will generally experience fair weather conditions.

The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology predicts light to moderate rainfall in a few places of the hilly regions of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki provinces, as well as some areas of Lumbini province, and one or two spots in other hilly regions of the country during this afternoon.

Furthermore, light to moderate snowfall is anticipated in certain high hilly and mountainous areas within Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki provinces.

As the day progresses, cloud cover is expected to increase across the country, leading to generally cloudy conditions tonight. Light to moderate rain is forecasted in some areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Gandaki provinces, along with a few places in the hilly regions of Bagmati province, including Lumbini province, during the night.
