Tragic road accident claims 10 lives in Kapilvastu

KATHMANDU: A devastating road accident near the Surahi Bridge in Shivaraj Municipality-1 of Kapilvastu district has resulted in the loss of ten lives early this morning.
The accident occurred around 1:00 am when a passenger bus (Su-Pa-Pra-02-001 Ba 0098) operated by Sunaulo Mahakali Transport veered off the road, plunging approximately 200 meters below.
The bus was en route from Mahendranagar to Kathmandu.
Kapilvastu District Police Office has confirmed the tragic incident, stating that all ten fatalities were reported at the accident site.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.
Additionally, 30 individuals sustained injuries in the accident, with nine of them being transported to Butwal for urgent medical attention, informed Police Inspector Navaratna Paudel.
The remaining injured persons are receiving treatment at local medical facilities, including Sanjeevani Hospital.
