Indian national arrested with counterfeit currency worth Rs 18.2 million

KATHMANDU: Sunsari Police have seized counterfeit Nepali currency worth Rs 18.2 million.

The discovery was made in a Scorpio vehicle bearing an Indian number plate, located in Inaruwa Municipality-4, as reported by SP Bipin Regmi of the Sunsari Police Office.

The counterfeit currency, amounting to Rs 18,251,000 in Rs 1,000 denominations, was found concealed within the vehicle.

Additionally, an Indian national has been apprehended in connection with the incident.

The individual has been identified as 22-year-old Mohamad Saiyad, who was driving the Scorpio at the time of the arrest.
