Bansbari Land Grab Scam: Three accused, including Arun Chaudhary, granted two more days in custody

KATHMANDU: The District Court in Kathmandu extended the police remand for two more days for businessperson Arun Chaudhary and two others, who were arrested in connection with the embezzlement of land belonging to the Bansbari Leather and Shoes Factory.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police had apprehended the trio on February 1 on charges of embezzling 10 ropani of land owned by the Bansbari Leather and Shoes Factory.

Chandra Prasad Panthi, Information Officer at the District Court, Kathmandu, informed RSS that Justice Yagya Prasad Acharya granted a two-day extension for police remand for the three accused.

"The Court has given permission to prolong the remand for accused businessperson Arun Chaudhary, former Executive Chairperson of Bansbari Shoe Factory, Ajit Narayan Singh Thapa, and proprietor of CG Chandbag Residency, Sanjay Thakur," he said.
