Premier Honors Outstanding Students for Achieving International Recognition

Dec 12: More than 25 students were felicitated at Premier International IB Continuum School at a special Felicitation Ceremony organized to commemorate the international awards that students of Premier won during this academic session under the guidance and tutelage of mentor-teachers and coaches. Premier students won the Fair Play Award at the International School Sports Federation-organized World School Futsal Championship 2023, which was held in Belgrade, Serbia, from the 8th to the 17th of October.

More than 20 students won accolades at the World Scholar’s Cup, a global competition organized across more than 70 countries. The Global Round was held at Doha, Qatar, from June 22nd to the 27th, and the final round of WSC known as the Tournament of Champions, at the Yale University in the USA from the 2nd to the 8th of November. A special mention was made to Drishant Maharjan, a student of IBDP Year 2 who won the prestigious third prize at the World Astronomy Olympiad that recently concluded in Beijing, China.

Various guests honoured the ceremony such as the Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC), Chiri Babu Maharhan, D.K. Dhungana, President of Kathmandu PABSON, Niroj Maharjan, President of Lalitpur PABSON, Laxman KC, Chairperson of International Education Providers’ Association of Nepal (IEPAN), Amardeep Sunuwar, the Assistant CDO of the District Administrative Office, Lalitpur, Sobin Raj Regmi, the General Secretary of Nepal School Sports Federation (NSSF), Sures Bahadur Shahi, the Ward Chairperson of Ward no. 15 (LMC), Mahendra Chhetri, the Chief Education Officer of the Education Department, LMC, and Nabaraj Rijal, the Education Officer of the Education Department, LMC, besides parent representatives and student awardees. The event honoured those who excelled in academics and sports disciplines at the international level.

Premier, the only school in Nepal to have full-member school status from the International School Sports Federation (ISF), will be hosting the upcoming Regional Rounds of the World Scholar’s Cup in February 2024 for participants in the Global Rounds and the World Finals.
