NA Election schedule approved

Party registration date fixed from Dec 10 to 15

KATHMANDU, Dec 1: The Election Commission (EC) has approved the schedule of the National Assembly (NA) election. The meeting of EC held on Thursday approved the schedule of the election for the 19 posts to be held on January 25, 2024.

The date for the party registration has been fixed from December 10 to December 15 in the press release issued on Friday by the Joint Secretary of EC and spokesperson Shaligram Paudel.

EC has stated that after the political parties have been registered, the Election symbols will be provided to the parties on December 17, and then, the list of the names of the approved parties will be sent to be published in the Nepal Gazette on December 20.

Similarly, the appointment of the Election Officer as well as the establishment of the Election Officer’s office in all seven Provincial Election offices, will be done on the 1st of January, 2024, informed EC.

A program for the election will be held at the Election Officer’s office from the 5th to the 14th of January, 2024, and the voting will commence at 9 am on the 25th of January and will run till 3 pm on the same day.
