Case against Sandeep Lamichhane in bench of Judge Shakuntala Karki

KATHMANDU, Sep 7: The rape case against cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has been scheduled for a hearing in the bench of Judge Shakuntala Karki. The case has been scheduled for hearing in the third number in the Kathmandu District Court.

Earlier, the case's final hearing was said to be on the 27th of August, but it could not be heard. In the case scheduled for hearing on August 27 on the bench of Judge Prakash Prasad Pandit, the hearing was scheduled for September 7 after it could not be heard then. Following that, Lamichhane went to Pakistan to play in the Asia Cup on August 28.

After the Supreme Court ordered that the case be heard quickly, the Kathmandu District Court set the date of the final hearing on September 7. After the hearing, it will be decided whether Sandeep will be acquitted or convicted. If Sandeep is found guilty, he will have to serve at least 10 years in prison.
