Kathmandu, October 8 — A grand rehearsal for the upcoming Fulpati celebration, scheduled for Thursday at Tundikhel, was held today (Tuesday). Following weeks of preparation and practice, the Nepal Army conducts a grand rehearsal two days before the arrival of Fulpati each year.
It has been a tradition for the Army to celebrate Fulpati at Tundikhel with great enthusiasm. On the day of Saptami (seventh day of 10-day long Dashain festival), the Army gives a 21-gun salute as the Fulpati, brought from Gorkha Durbar, is brought into the Dashain home.
After the raising ceremony at Tundikhel, it is customary for the Army to maintain a necessary level of personnel and allow others to go on Dashain leave.
