President Paudel authenticates Nepal University Bill

Kathmandu, October 9 — President Ramchandra Paudel has authenticated a bill on Wednesday.

According to Clause 2 of Article 113 of the Constitution, the President has authenticated the Nepal University Bill.

The authentication came after the bill was passed by both houses of Parliament, as stated in a press release issued by Archana Khadka, Deputy Secretary at the President's Office.

The government had tabled the bill in the Federal Parliament deeming it necessary to establish a public university in the non-governmental sector for producing skilled, creative, industrious and competitive human resources in the country.

It is stated in the bill that the University will be a non-profit institution providing courses on multi-disciplinary studies based on inter-disciplinary concept (liberal arts).
