Mahakali River crosses alert level

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The water level of the Mahakali River has crossed the alert level. The Flood Forecasting Division says that the water level has reached 5.89 meters at Parigaun Station in Dadeldhura.

The water level of the Mahakali River is usually 5.80 meters. The alert level for the river is set at 7 meters.

Even though the water flow is stable now, the water level is expected to rise as there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the Far West. The Forecasting Division has urged people near water surfaces to take caution.
