Actress Deeya climbs highest mountain in Africa

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Actress Deeya Pun has successfully conquered Africa's tallest peak. She climbed atop the Kilimanjaro mountain on Sunday morning at 7 am.

She shared the photo of her hoisting the Nepalese flag on the top of the mountain through social media. She expressed happiness at the fact that her dream to climb the 5 thousand 8 hundred and 95 metres (19 thousand 341 feet) tall mountain had come true.

Deeya successfully climbed the highest mountain in the world, Mt Everest, in Jestha last year.  Earlier, she also climbed Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world at 8,163 metres. She also climbed Argentina's Mt. Aconcagua, which is 6,961, metres high in 2018. Her goal is to climb the seven highest peaks in the world.

Deeya, who made her acting debut with the film "Bir Bikram", starred in the film "Antim Sanskar" which was released last Ashadh. Although the film was not successful commercially, her acting received critical acclaim. Her film "Dayarani" is yet to be released.
