41 Ex-Indian Gurkha Armies of Chitwan honoured

CHITWAN, Aug 6: Fifty-one Ex-Indian Gurkha Armies of Chitwan district have been honoured with the 'Senior Warrior Award'.

At a programme jointly organised by the Consulate General of India in Birgunj, and Ex-Servicemen Welfare Club on Saturday, 41 Ex-Indian Gurkha Armies above 80 years were honoured. 

On the occasion, former General Dr. Prem Singh Bansyat said both Nepal and India should respect the contribution of the Ex-Indian Gurkha Armies. 

The Ex-Indian Gurkha Army had played the role of bridge to maintain friendly relations between the two countries. 

Similarly, Consul General of the Consulate General of India in Birgunj, Nitesh Kumar, mentioned that the Indian government would honour Ex-Indian Gurkha Armies continuously.

He said the Consulate General of India in Birgunj organised such a programme for the first time and it would be continued. 

The honoured Ex-Indian Gurkha Armies expressed happiness for honouring them and appreciating their contribution.
