Kathmandu Traffic Police starts "Two Minutes with Passengers" program
KATHMANDU, July 19: The traffic police in Kathmandu Valley has launched a week-long traffic awareness program "Two minutes with passengers" starting today.
Chief Deputy Inspector General of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Poshraj Pokharel, formally started the program by having a two-minute traffic awareness conversation with passengers at the bus stop in front of Kathmandu Mall in Sundhara.
The Traffic Police said that they started this awareness program with passengers because they have just as important responsibility as drivers and operators for safe road travel.
During the campaign, pamphlets containing basic information about traffic have been distributed to passengers. Banners have also been displayed at various intersections to increase traffic awareness.
The traffic police said that this program will be conducted at various bus stops in Bhaktapur and Lalitpur including New Road, Shantibatika, Kalimati, Kalanki, Maharajgunj, Chabahil, Gaushala, Koteshwor and other bus stops in Kathmandu, which are the most frequented places for passengers.
