Royalists at Nirmal Niwas for former King's birthday (with pictures)
KATHMANDU, July 8: Former king Gyanendra Shah is celebrating his 77th birthday on Saturday. On the occasion of his birthday, the royalists are advocating for the restoration of the monarchy.
The royalists have formed a committee to celebrate the former king's birthday with grandeur. But the former king Gyanendra Shah was not there when the committee went to Nirmal Niwas to congratulate him on Saturday.
When Gyanendra was not found in his residence, the royalists returned from the outside gate after handing over letters of congratulations and flower bouquets to the former king's representative.
Former king's Communication Secretary Phani Pathak confirmed that he was not at Nirmal Niwas. He informed that the former king was with his family at a resort in the Capital to celebrate his birthday.
There is a program in the evening to light 77 lamps to wish the good health and long life of the former king, Pathak informed. He revealed preparations are being made to light the lamp at 7:00 PM in Nirmal Niwas.
