Peace rally in Lumbini on occasion of Buddha Jayanti

BUTWAL, May 5: On the occasion of the 2567th Buddha Jayanti and Lumbini Day, a peace rally has been held on Friday morning. Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kirati inaugurated the peace rally. A rally was taken out through the Lumbini Mayadevi temple complex, to Shantideep, the Central Canal to the conference center with various tableaus. 

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda will address the main ceremony. Chairman of Lumbini Development Fund and Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Kirati, Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary, diplomatic delegation including MPs, and foreign guests will also participate in the ceremony, said the Member Secretary, Sanu Raja Shakya.

Astudhatu March is going to be held today in Ramgram of Nawalparasi, where the Buddha's Astudhatu (physical remains) are located. Dhundiraj Bhattarai, the treasurer of the fund, said that a special Buddha Jayanti ceremony was organized by doing Astudhatu March from Panditpur to Ramgram. According to the Lumbini Development Fund, there is a program to be addressed by Sushila Sripali, Minister of State for Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation in Ramgram.
