11-member committee of AIG leadership formed for investigation of Kapan incident
KATHMANDU, April 28: Police have formed an 11-member investigation committee to investigate the incident in Kapan. According to the Police headquarters, the Police have formed an 11-member investigation committee under the leadership of AIG Kiran Bajracharya of the Central Investigation Bureau. The committee consists of SSP Dan Bahadur Karki of District Police Range Kathmandu, SSP Dr. Manoj KC of Valley Crime Investigation Office, SSP Dinesh Acharya and DSP Dharmaraj Bhandari of the Bureau, DSP Hari Basnet of Police Circle Bouddha and others.
After the murder of Nira Pandey Acharya, who ran a utensils shop in Kapan, became mysterious, the police formed a high-level investigation committee showing seriousness. She was found dead on the counter of the shop in Saraswati Nagar, Kapan, on the 20th of April in the afternoon. Even after 9 days of the incident, the police have not been able to identify the accused. The parties including the UML have also been seriously concerned about this incident and have been increasing pressure on the police and the government to find out the truth.
The Central Bureau of Investigation has already mobilized its team to investigate the incident. 35-year-old Nira's body was found with knife marks in 20 places. The police have concluded that a second person entered the shop from outside and killed her. Her husband Yogendra Acharya runs an electrical goods shop 300 meters away from the shop run by Nira.
