Issue of parliamentary committee formation removed from agenda as parties did not give members' names

KATHMANDU, April 26: Today's agenda of the House of Representatives has been modified as the major political parties did not give the names of the members who will be in the parliamentary committee on time. The Federal Parliament Secretariat had already published yesterday, the possible agenda of today's Parliament meeting and had mentioned the issue of the formation of a parliamentary hearing committee and a special committee.

However, the agenda was changed after Congress, UML, Maoist Center and other parties did not give the names of the members who will be on the committee, in the meeting of the Task Management Consultative Committee held before the sitting of the Parliament meeting on Wednesday.

The business of the Parliament has been affected due to the inability to form 10 thematic committees and joint committees under the House of Representatives. Since the parliamentary hearing committee could not be formed and the amendment bill related to the constitutional council could not be passed, the door to the appointment of officials in the constitutional body could not be opened.

In today's meeting, only the agenda of the submission of the third annual report of the Tribal Commission (Fiscal Year) 2078-079 by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has been fixed.
