Manmohan Adhikari's 24th Memorial Day today

KATHMANDU, April 26: Manmohan Adhikari's 24th Memorial Day is being celebrated today. Manmohan Memorial Foundation is going to organize a special program on the occasion.

Adhikari is the first communist Prime Minister of South Asia and also the first Chairman of CPN-UML. Adhikari passed away on 13th Baisakh 2056 in Gothatar, Kathmandu after suffering a heart attack during election campaigning.

During the tenure of Adhikari in 2052 B.S., who led the government for 9 months, social security programs including old age allowances and campaigns such as "Build your village yourself" were started.
