By-elections: Vote-Counting in full swing in all three constituencies

KATHMANDU, April 24: Vote-counting has begun in Bara-2, Chitwan-2 and Tanahun-1, where the by-elections were completed on Sunday. The vote counting started in Tanahun-1 last night, while in Bara 2 and Chitwan 2, the counting of votes started on Monday afternoon.

Swarnim Wagle, the candidate of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been leading in Tanahun since the counting of votes started. He is followed by Govinda Bhattarai of Congress, but there is a lot of difference. Similarly, UML's candidate Sarvendra Khanal is in the third position, while other candidates have not been able to get significant votes.

Similarly, in Bara 2, Janata Samajbadi Party candidate Upendra Yadav has made an early lead. He is followed by Shivachandra Kushawaha of the Janamat Party, followed by UML candidate Purushottam Poudel and Ramesh Kharel of RSP. There are 34 candidates in Bara 2.

Similarly, in Chitwan 2 as well, the counting of votes started a while ago. Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of RSP, Jeet Narayan Shrestha of Congress, and Ram Prasad Neupane of UML are candidates in Chitwan.
