Jeep accident in Baitadi claims six lives from the same village in Bajhang

KATHMANDU, April 12: Six people from the same village in Bajhang have tragically died in a jeep accident that occurred in Patan Municipality-8, Jholekmod in Baitadi, on the Khodape-Bajhang road section along the Jayaprithvi Highway.

The accident took place at around 11:00 pm on Tuesday, as the jeep, with license plate number Se 1 Ja 764, was travelling from Jhulaghat to Bagthala of Bajhang. According to Baitadi Police Spokesperson, Inspector Yogesh Khatry, the jeep carrying 12 passengers fell 500 meters off the road, resulting in the death of Mane Bohora (60), Banjh, Nare Bohora (42), Gorakh Bohora (35), Man Bahadur Dhami (45), Birkha Dhami (45), and Bire Dhami (40) of Kedarsyun Rural Municipality-5.

Five other passengers narrowly escaped by jumping before the accident.

The driver of the jeep is currently at large, and the cause of the accident is still unknown. The District Police Office in Baitadi is conducting further investigations.
