Government imposes 48-Hour silence period on Vice Presidential Election publicity

KATHMANDU, March 14: In an effort to ensure a fair and transparent vice presidential election, the government has imposed a 48-hour silence period on the publicity of the election.

The Election Commission has requested that all individuals refrain from any discussions, gatherings, or other activities related to the election, whether virtual or physical.

The silence period begins at midnight today and will continue until the election on March 17.

The candidates for the vice presidential position include Asta Laxmi Shakya from the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist-Leninist, Mamata Jha from the Janamat Party, and Ramsaya Prasad Yadav from the Janata Samajbadi Party.
