Ram Chandra Poudel sworn in as Nepal's new president

KATHMANDU, March 13:  Ram Chandra Poudel was inaugurated as Nepal's new president in a special ceremony held at Sital Niwas.

Acting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Hari Krishna Karki administered the oath of office and secrecy to President Poudel. Poudel's election victory was significant, with 214 votes from the House of Representatives and 352 votes from the Provincial Assemblies. His closest rival, Subhash Chandra Nembang of the CPN-UML, received 162 votes from the House of Representatives and 98 votes from the Provincial Assemblies.

With Poudel taking on this role, Nepal's citizens look forward to the positive impact he can make on the nation's future.
