157 vehicles held in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU, March 6: Traffic police have seized 157 vehicles that were driven carelessly in the name of celebrating Holi in Kathmandu Valley. SP Avinarayan Kafle of the Valley Traffic Police Office told Ratopati that a total of 157 vehicles were held in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur.

13 four-wheelers are among those detained by the traffic police. SP Kafle said that the held vehicles will be handed over only at 7 pm. 

The traffic police are checking drivers for drinking and drug use. Traffic checking is being done at 68 places. 

Lalitpur SSP Siddhi Bikram Shah informed that 15 motorcycles were held at Pulchowk, Jawalakhel and Satdobato in Lalitpur. SSP Shah said that three people riding on a motorcycle, not wearing helmets, and those who were drunk driving were detained.

On the occasion of Fagu Purnima, 604 traffic policemen have been mobilized in the valley to carry out checks.
