Actor Paul Shah being released from jail today

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: Actor Paul Shah, who was accused of raping a minor, has been cleared of all charges by the Pokhara High Court on Sunday  and is being released from the jail today. 

Justices Dilliraj Acharya and Shreedhar Kumari Pudasaini found that the victim did not present sufficient evidence against Shah. As a result, Shah will soon be released from jail. 

This verdict comes after Shah had already been given a clean chit by the Tanahun District Court, but was still imprisoned and fined Rs 1,000,000 for child sexual abuse by the Nawalpur District Court. 

Shah had filed a writ petition against this verdict, leading to the recent decision by the Pokhara High Court to clear him of all charges.
