7-year-old dead in Sindhuli motorcycle accident; locals protest

Kathmandu, December 15 — A 7-year-old boy, Ayush Majhi, died after being struck by a motorcycle in Kurthauli, Dudhauli Municipality-1, on December 14.

The accident occurred in the evening, and Ayush succumbed to his injuries during treatment on the following day.

Following the incident, the victim's family and locals blocked the Madan Bhandari Highway in protest, according to Inspector Baburam Karki from the District Police Office, Sindhuli.

The motorcycle, heading towards Dudhauli from Bhiman, has not yet been identified.

The police are working to determine the vehicle's registration number and the identity of the rider.

The victim’s family, after his death in Kathmandu, took his body back to Dudhauli.

Locals also staged protests along the Madan Bhandari Highway and the Dhansari road section.

Authorities continue their investigation into the incident.
