Police searching for the shop loot culprits, 4 arrested so far

KATHMANDU, Feb. 15: The police have intensified the search for those involved in looting during the protest in the Balaju area of the capital on Monday.

During the movement of the transport workers, the angry mob entered the Lotse Mall of the new bus park and engaged in vandalism along with looting mobile phones.

District Police Range Kathmandu SP Sitaram Rizal informed that more screening is being done to arrest the suspects involved in the incident.

In a press conference on Wednesday, SSP Dan Bahadur Karki of District Police Range Kathmandu said that 4 people involved in the incident, have been arrested so far.

Those arrested are Chiran Regmi of Dailekh and resident of Tarakeshwar, Naveen Khadgi of Samakhusi, Sujan Khatri of Rupandehi and resident of Ward No. 26 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and Pradeep Basnet of Jhapa and resident of Swayambhu.

They are being further investigated by the court with a 4-day deadline for crimes related to theft and robbery.
