Writ petition filed at SC demanding not to give facilities to Deuba as opposition party leader
KATHMANDU, Feb 7: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court demanding not to give facilities to Sher Bahadur Deuba, the President of Nepali Congress, as leader of the opposition party by advocate Bimal Prasad Pokharel.
The hearing of the case is now scheduled for Wednesday.
The petitioner has maintained that a party that supports the government cannot be an opposition party so its leader must not enjoy facilities as an opposition party.
Earlier, the Nepali Congress which is supposed to be the main opposition party had given its vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
