NC calls meeting of opposition front
KATHMANDU, Feb. 3: A meeting of the Nepali Congress-led opposition front has been called. Congress called a meeting of the opposition front at the office of its parliamentary party at Singha Darbar on Saturday afternoon. According to the Secretariat of Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, the United Socialist Party, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party, and Rashtriya Janamorcha have been invited to the meeting.
There will be a discussion about the selection of candidates for the vice-president of the National Assembly and the by-election of members of the National Assembly to be held in Lumbini province. The meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Working Committee held on Thursday decided to finalize the candidacy for the National Assembly Vice Speaker after a discussion between the opposition fronts. On the 5th of February, there is an election executive to register candidates for the vice president of the National Assembly, and on the 6th, the election will be held at 12 noon.
In the elections to be held on February 8, the candidates of Congress, UML, and Nagarik Unmukti Party are competing. It is understood that in the meeting of the opposition front, there will also be a discussion on the problems seen in the ruling power alliance and the revival of the former alliance.
