Delay in retrieving Nirakar Pandey's body, documents being verified

KATHMANDU, Jan. 12: There has been a delay in retrieving the body of Nirakar Pandey, who lost his life in the fire in Cambodia. Although the necessary documents to bring back the body, have already been submitted to Cambodia from Nepal, there has been a delay as the Cambodian government has still not verified the documents.
Lalsingh Khadka, President of NRNA Cambodia informed that the necessary documents have been sent from Nepal and said that the body will be brought after the country where the incident occurred, verifies it. For that, a file has been submitted to the Interior Ministry of Cambodia. However, he said that the body cannot be sent to Nepal due to the delay in document verification by the authorities. It has been said that the officials of the Ministry of Interior have called for verification of the file again for Thursday.
He says that if the file is verified today, the body can reach Nepal within three to four days. Pandey died in a fire at the Grand Diamond City Hotel and Casino in the town of Popeye, near the Thai border. He died when he jumped from the 12th floor to save his life from the fire.
After the document is verified, it is said that the body will be brought to Nepal from the hospital at the scene of the incident via Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. It has been informed that it takes about 10 hours just to send the body from the place of the incident to the capital.

The government has already decided to bear the cost of bringing the body back.
