Meeting of the ruling alliance today
KATHMANDU, Jan. 12: A meeting of the ruling partner parties is being held to finalize issues including cabinet expansion. The Secretariat of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda" informed that a meeting of the ruling partner parties has been called at 3 pm today at the Prime Minister's Residence, Baluwatar.
It is informed that the expansion of the Council of Ministers, the election of the Speaker, and the effectiveness of the government will be discussed in the meeting. On Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Dahal and CPN (UML) President KP Sharma Oli held a meeting on the current political issues.
Prime Minister Dahal had taken the vote of confidence from the House of Representatives on the 10th of January. Two hundred and sixty-eight MPs gave him a vote of confidence out of the seven hundred and seventy present. The ruling partner parties are UML, CPN (Maoist Centre), Rashtriya Swatantra Party, Rashtriya Prajatantra Party, Janata Samajwadi Party, Janmat Party, and Nagarik Unmukti Party.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister's Secretariat has notified that a regular meeting of the Council of Ministers will also be held today. The Cabinet meeting will be held at 11 am at the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers at Singhadarbar. Generally, the meeting of the Council of Ministers is held on Mondays and Thursdays.
