Hearing of writ petition filed against Home Minister Lamichhane today

KATHMANDU, Jan 6: Hearing of writ petition filed at the Supreme Court against Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane is scheduled on Friday.
Earlier, advocates Rabi Raj Basaula and Yubaraj Poudel had filed a writ petition against Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs.
Likewise, the Constitutional Bench had earlier issued an order to the defendant to submit its response within seven days on Dec 21.
Lamichhane has been accused of using citizenship and passport of the United States of America (USA) without quitting the citizenship and passport of Nepal.
The petitioners have also demanded the apex court to scrap Lamichhhane’s post as a member of the House of Representatives ( HoR).
