Infamous serial killer Charles Sobhraj to be freed from jail today

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: The infamous serial killer Charles Sobhraj is to be freed from jail on Friday.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Supreme Court had issued an order to release Sobhraj who has been in jail for the past 19 years. Sobhraj’s  legal team successfully filed a petition claiming he should be given a concession on his prison term due to his age, 78, and good behavior.
A provision in Nepalese law allows inmates who have shown good character and completed 75% of their jail term to be released.
