Month long fair begins in Ashapuri, Doleshwar Temples

Bhaktapur - A month-long fair has begun at the popular Ashapuri Mahadev and Doleshwar Mahadev temples at Sipadole of Surya Binayak Municipality with the beginning of the month of Shrawan in the Lunar calendar today. 

Devotees have begun to increase since early this morning with the beginning of the fair, said Bidur Man Singh Basnet, chair at the Doleshwar Mahadev temple preservation and development committee. 

Worshiping of the Ashapuri Mahadev is believed to bring good fortune to the devotees therefore, a large number of women devotees observing the fast in Shrawan visit the temple with a great excitement. 

Similarly, the devotees are also thronging in Doleshwar Temple. The committee senior vice chair Kiran Thapa shared that the amounts collected from the offerings in the temple would be utilized for the implementation of master plan of the temple. 

It may be noted that the devotees from Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Kathmandu and Kavrepalanchok visit the temples.
