Chobhar dry port comes under operation

The facility is the first of its type in the valley.

KATHMANDU, April 5: The first dry port in the Kathmandu Valley – Chobhar dry port – is now under operation.

The dry port was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday.

The construction of the dry port that covers a total of 220 Ropanis of land began in 2075 BS in an investment of 1 billion and 50 million rupees.

Chobar Dry Port is mainly divided into three parts – custom, container and administration.

The port has a capacity of 500 containers.

With this the importers can now make customs clearance of their goods in Kathmandu.
