Tri-T20 series: Nepal sets a target of 204 runs

KATHMANDU, March 31: Nepal set a target of 204 runs for Papua New Guinea (PNG) for a win in a match of the Tri-T20 series played at Tribhuvan University Ground at Kirtipur on Thursday.

Nepal was invited to bat first after PNG opted to bowl, winning the toss.

Dipendra Singh Airee scored a half century which helped Nepal to set a mammoth target of 204 runs in loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.

Airee solely contributed 66 runs in 33 balls which included three fours and four sixes. Likewise, Adil Ansari scored 31, Aasif Sheikh scored 38 runs while Rohit Kumar Poudel and Kushal Burtel hit 41 and 17 runs respectively.

Nepal will secure a position in finals if PNG fails to score the target runs in today’s match.

Nepal is on the top of the scoreboard in the series after it defeated PNG with 15 runs and Malaysia with six wickets in the two matches played earlier.
