Nepal clinches second consecutive victory in Tri-T20 series

KATHMANDU, March 30: Nepal beat Malaysia by six wickets in a Tri-T20 series match held at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

It is the second victory for Nepal in the series. Earlier, Nepal had thrashed Papua New Guinea in the first of the series.

Aasif Sheikh scored a half century, contributing 57 runs and drove Nepal toward victory. Sheikh’s half century includes seven fours and one maximum. 

Likewise, Dilip Nath contributed 15 runs while Kushal Malla scored two.

Winning the toss, Malaysia had elected to bat first and set a target of 115 runs for Nepal to win.

Chasing the target, Nepal scored the targeted runs in 13.4 overs in loss of four wickets.

With this, Nepal stands at the top of the scoreboard with four points followed by Malaysia with two and PNG with one point.
