UML accepts MCC-Nepal compact through its political report

KATHMANDU, March 23: The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has accepted the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC)-Nepal Compact.

Earlier, while the ruling alliance ratified the MCC compact, the party had not stated its position. However, the political report of the party presented in the party's central committee meeting by Chairman KP Sharma Oli reads that the MCC compact has been ratified and it should now be implemented for the welfare of the nation.

The report has also stressed a high flow of Foreign Direct Investments in the country for a prosperous development.

KP Sharma Oli also maintained that the interpretive declaration issued by the government while ratifying the compact is meaningless.
