Maoist Center directs its cadres to prepare for local polls without coalition
KATHMANDU, March 21: The CPN (Maoist Center) has directed its party members to prepare for the upcoming local level elections without coalition with any political parties.
Issuing a directive, the party has maintained that all forces of the party in Province 1 have been focused on the election. “If the party is defeated in the election, the citizens will be defeated,” reads the directive.
Harka Bahadur Nembang, MC’s Chairman of Province 1, has also issued a circular directing all the ward committees in the province to complete its meeting by March 29 and begin the election campaign at the ground level.
The party is conducting an election campaign in the province, dividing the 14 districts of the province into five commands.
The party has also directed its committees to finalize the list of candidates by April 8.
The Election Commission has asked the candidates to file nominations for the election on April 24 and 25. The election of the local level is scheduled for May 13.
