UML joins impeachment motion registered against CJ Rana
KATHMANDU, March 6: The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has officially joined the impeachment motion filed against the Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana registered by the lawmakers of the ruling alliance.
The government on Sunday formed an 11-member impeachment recommendation committee to move the impeachment motion against CJ Rana. Of them, four members are of the CPN-UML.
“As the impeachment motion is all about improvement of the judiciary, the party has joined the impeachment motion,” said Bishal Bhattari, the chief whip of the parliamentary party of the UML.
The 11-member committee includes four lawmakers of UML, two each of Nepali congress and CPN (Maoist Center), and one each of CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajbadi Party and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party.
The four ULM lawmakers in the committee are Bishnu Poudel, Krishna Bhakta Pokharel, Lalbabu Pandit and Shivamaya Tumbahangphe.
