Over 300 Nepali nationals in Ukraine reach safe destinations

No Nepali nationals in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine.

KATHMANDU, March 2: Over 300 Nepali nationals have reached safe destinations after leaving Ukraine, according to the Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).

“As many as 302 Nepali nationals fled Ukraine and have reached safe destinations,” said Ram Kaji Khadka, Ambassador of Nepal to Germany. “These people have fled to Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Moldova.”

As of Tuesday, as many as 232 Nepali nationals have reached Poland, 39 reached Slovakia, four reached Hungary, 23 reached Romania and four have reached Moldova.

People have been leaving Ukraine after Russia initiated an invasion in the country.

Fighting continues as Russia's "special military operation" in Ukraine has entered the seventh day, while a new round of peace talks is reportedly to take place.
