Road and river project victims protest forced evictions (photos)
Kathmandu, November 21 — Residents affected by road and river projects in the Kathmandu Valley staged a protest, accusing authorities of displacing people unjustly.
The demonstration was organized on Thursday by the Land Rights Protection Struggle Committee and the Non-Judicial Road and River Standard Victims’ Struggle Committee.
Protesters demanded the abolition of what they described as unjust road and river standards that lead to forced evictions.
They held a rally from Kupondole to Maitighar Mandala, raising awareness about their plight and calling for justice.
