Nepal Army disposes explosives detected in capital

KATHMANDU, Feb 18: A specialized team of the Nepal Army has successfully disposed explosives, assumed to be pressure cooker bomb, detected at Dunge Adda of Kathmandu.

Earlier, on Friday two suspicious objects that looked alike  a pressure cooker bomb were detected in the area, according to the Metropilitan Police Range, Kathmandu.

In recent days, as the government is preparing to table the Millennium Corporate Challenge (MCC) in parliament, protests and violence have erupted in the streets of Kathmandu.

While the cadres of political parties opposing the $500 million American grant are staging the protests, the key leaders of the major political parties are busy holding discussions and doing their best to forge consensus.
