Following meeting between PM Deuba, MC’s Chair Dahal, ruling alliance’s meeting put off
KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center), key coalition partner of Deuba-led government, the meeting of the ruling alliance scheduled for Thursday has been postponed.
According to the sources, it has been learnt that the leaders failed to forge any consensus regarding the Millennium Corporate Challenge (MCC) in the meeting held earlier this morning.
The meeting of the ruling alliance earlier called for 3 PM today has been put off for 5 PM same day.
PM and President of the Nepali Congress, Deuba wants the MCC to be tabled in parliament on Friday but his coalition partners MC and CPN (Unified Socialist) are opposing the government’s move.
Protests have erupted in the capital regarding the ratification of the MCC.
