COVID-19: 6,827 cases detected, 10 die on Friday

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: 

Nepal, on Friday, reported a decline in the number of new COVID-19 cases on Friday as 6,827 people tested positive for the virus in the past 24 hours. 

According to the health ministry, a total of 19,869 tests including 6,078 antigen tests were carried out across the country. 

Nepal, on Thursday, confirmed 8,017 new cases through 21,808 tests. Similarly, 8,454 cases were detected on Wednesday. 

With Friday’s case count, Nepal’s active casetally stands at 89,941, added the ministry. 

Meanwhile, 5,432 people recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours taking the country’s recovery tally to 842,236. 

Ten other patients, however, succumbed to the infectious disease. With this, COVID-19 fatality rate has reached 1.4 percent of the total infections. 

As of Friday, a total of 1,068,932 cases so far have been detected in the country since the country’s first case had been detected on January 24, 2020.
