NC’s convention in 16 districts postponed yet again

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has postponed its district conventions in 16 districts until further notice owing to the rising fears of the third wave of coronavirus disease.

The party had rescheduled the conventions for January 29.

The conventions, which were to be held prior to the general convention, could not take place due to active membership disputes.

The party again deferred the conventions citing the forthcoming National Assembly elections slated for January 26.

With the recent statement released by the NC’s central office, conventions in Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara and Parsa in Madhes Province; Sindhuli, Makwanpur, Sindhupalchowk and Chitwan in Bagmati Province Nawalpur (Gandaki), Banke (Lumbini), Kailali and Achham (Sudur Paschim) have fallen uncertain.
