Kathmandu Valley alone sees 6,981 new cases Thursday

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Three districts in the Kathmandu Valley --- Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur --- witnessed cumulative corona cases of 6,981 on Thursday alone. 

According to the health ministry’s daily corona updates, Kathmandu district recorded the highest numbers of cases (5,001) followed by Lalitpur (1,130) and Bhaktapur (850). 

With this, the active case tally in the Valley, where Nepal’s federal capital lies, has soared to 37,093. The number accounts for 64.7 percent of the total number of active cases reported from across the country as of Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, as many as 12,338 people tested positive for the virus across the country in the past 24 hours.
