KATHMANDU, Jan 19: As many as four vehicles of Indian (Bhojpuri) Actor, Khesari Lal Yadav was lit at Sunsari after Yadav failed to attend an event.

Actor Yadav was scheduled to attend the Barju Festival in Sunsari district on Tuesday. According to Yadav, he was not informed about the COVID-19 restrictions by the organizing team. Later, the event was postponed due to the COVID-19 situation.

Speaking with media personnel, Yadav said “ Until I arrived at Biratnagar from Patna, I was not informed about the COVID-19 restrictions and suspension of the event by the organisers. I was also unaware about the ticket collection.”

After the audience came to know about the absence of Yadav in the event, they began to protest and lit four vehicles of Yadav. Yadav’s musical instruments were also destroyed and some of his colleagues were beaten.

“I have suffered a financial loss worth 10.5 million. I was here to entertain the Nepali audience but I was barred from attending the event by the local administration office and I see no fault of the administration, nor, it is my mistake. The organizer is responsible for this incident,” Yadav stated.

Yadav also maintained that the organizer must bear the financial loss.

However, Vishnu Chaudary, a member of the organizer committee said that the administration had agreed to let the committee conduct the event but changed its words at the last hour. “Yadav was in Nepal after we informed that the administration has granted permission to conduct the event,” he added.

Yadav returned to India late on Tuesday night.
